Exiting software for who want to dive deep into synthesis
The design of this app is impeccable. You get the feeling that you can create anything - a beautiful powerful tool for expression. Its great to see some tutorials and sample projects from the start in case you just want to start playing. A little slow on my iPad 2... The iCloud sync is great and something I wish more audio apps did. Cant wait to see what Ill make!
Been watching this app for a while. And now...I am inside it. Looking forward to some fun and learning.
I dont remember having such a good time with an iOS music app. I own a lot of them, Audulus 3 is way up there. Incredible. Thank you for this.
I’m about an hour into learning Audulus. It’s a well implemented and executed visual programming language. It feels fantastic on the iPad Pro’s large screen. I feel like this is a fantastic intro and sandbox for synth programming which you may or may not know you wanted to do… but if you buy audulus, your intellectual curiosity will get the best of you.
Nice update. Big little changes. One of the best apps on my iPad. Well done and thank you. Now, back to creation.
New version looks promising. I hope, it will works with hardware modular as well! Great app with amazing gui! Thanks Taylor for your work! Cheers from Russia
Its very difficult that a perfect and beautiful modular can become better, but here we have Audulus 3 :-)
The choice is simple. You can mortgage your home and spend tens upon tens of thousands of dollars to buy and configure a Buchla, Eurorack, Moog or some other modular monstrosity that is made up of modules someone else thinks you want, will never remember a patch, is guaranteed to break down, will require you to adjust your budget to accommodate your electrical bill and rent a conex container to move ...OR... You can drop the measly 30 bucks on Audulus and have an infinite collection of perpetually expandable modular systems made of the included modules and/or those that you design, will remember anything or everything you create, cannot possibly break down, runs on batteries and will fit in your hand. This program is not for the kids who cannot figure out how to get past the presets on their Casio toy keyboards. It is DEEP. Did I mention that you can even design your own modules ...even from a component level? Yeah. You can. In fact that is at least half the fun of Audulus, if you are willing to experiment and learn. Go ahead and add a MIDI controller or two if you must have some knobs and sliders to twiddle. Thats easy. Audulus also plays well with other software through MIDI and Audiobus. To top it off, I have found that the company is friendly, supportive and has demonstrated a commitment to constantly improving and expanding the program and its capabilities. So, like I said, the choice is obvious.
Crashes frequently (and Im on an iPad Pro). Able to save patches to Google Drive but not able to load them (greyed out). "Report a Problem" interface crashes when I try to report issues in-app. May have to return it if things dont improve...
As a long time amateur musician, I have always been interested in modular synthesizers. I fondly remember playing around with the Moog when it was first released, but never had the funds to actually own one myself. These days, hardware and software synthesizers are everywhere you turn, but for the most part they are still pretty pricey. Recently I was inspired to once again look at what was available. Native Instruments Reaktor Blocks looked good, but was still a bit steep for my budget. Fortunately I discovered Audulus. While other software synths spend development time and energy on making a user interface that looks like a traditional modular synth, Audulus has captured the essential nature of the underlying principles. The interface is simple and elegant and has no unnecessary fluff to get in the way. Everything you need to build your own patches is included. All the basic components found in a typical modular synth are available and the performance is outstanding. I continue to be amazed at how smoothly the application runs even with extremely complex patches. Definitely the premier software modular synth for the Mac and iOS.
Audulus is quite simply the most capable, awe inspiring, potential filled app of any kind that I have seen. You know its good when people are still discovering its capabilities from the toolset provided!
As soon as the updates stopped coming on Jasuito I decided to invest in this app. I was not disappointed. This app has no parallel on the App Store. It is more powerful and customizable in every way. While Audulus has gotten (a lot) easier with the 3.0 update, modular synthesis isnt for the faint of heart. Its not for everybody. But if you enjoy learning, tinkering, and a challenge, get over here!
The best got better
This app offers a streamlined way to get into sound design from the basic building blocks. the interface is accessible to non-technical types, but plenty deep enough for working professionals to bring new life to their compositions with the iOS platform. I can’t wait to see how the modules evolve over time, this kind of processing power is a steal at this price point.
I thought version 2 was amazing. 3.0 has so many more features, and amazing options. The tutorial section is great for people who are new to modular synths. Love the GUI updates as well, everything looks & sounds amazing.
this is a very accessible way to get into sound design if you are interested in creating from scratch. all the basic building blocks are laid out in a linear way, with plenty of depth for intricate patching. simple to use, elegant, fast, bravo.
Entertaining and powerful, and now easier than ever for thick block-heads like myself to create something and get an education in the bargain. I encourage anyone interested in modular—or synths in general—to pick this one up.
innovative and gorgeous with an unbelievable amount of options to keep you busy for a long long time exploring this futuristic modular environment. excellent design and a very responsive developer make this a must have if youre into modular synths, beautiful interfaces and musical experimentation. trully impressive.
Learn a language at your own pace. Great creative tools to stretch your brain to learn about stuff without having to spend thousands of dollars. Awesome.
